Triglav National Park

Triglav National Park was established in 1924 and thus is one of the oldest national parks in Europe. The park got his name after the Mt Triglav (meaning "3 heads") , the highest Slovenian mountain (2864 meter). Today the park covers 4% of the territory of Slovenia, extending from Lake Bohinj, through the Julian Alps to Soca Valley.

Triglav National park is an open-air museum where visitors can experience crystal clear waters, remains of virgin forests, rocky summits, endemic animals, diverse cultural heritage, friendly people and delicious local cheeses.
